As the theme stage show of 2011 Xi’an International Horticultural Exposition, the Water Dance interprets the worldwide subjects, such as ecology, environmental protection and building a green home together. DTS multitrack stereo system was firstly employed in the outdoor large-scale live-action performance of Water Dance, by which the created multi-dimension surround sound field provides acoustic feast for the visitors. Besides, five open/close mechanical water stages are enabled simultaneously for the first time, like five blooming flowers in the nearly 100m2 water areas, creating magnificent and flexible stage pattern and visual effect. In the performance area consisting of double-layer water screen, the visitors are surrounded in 3D space formed by water screen. Relying on the outdoor live-action performance, multi-dimensional and immersive cinema viewing experience is created. The performance overturns traditional model of actor playing and audience watching; with interactive and participatory program, it gives visitors the immersive feelings and allows them to laugh with the performance. Led by International Horticultural Exposition, through field visit and comparison & selection of excellent teams across the country, domestic top-rank producers and teams are gathered finally for the Water Dance with superior production equipment. Within limited production time, a fantastic performance is presented to the audiences.
