Tancheng is the strategic town in south Shandong, the famous historical city and the hometown of Tanzi. The multimedia Show made by Gush Multimedia reproduces the important “Tancheng battle”, which decided the victory of our army. In the night of January 18, 1943, under the command of acting commander Chen Guang from 115th Division’s 2nd Teaching Brigade of the Eighth Route Army, our army marched on to and attacked the strategic town in south Shandong-Tancheng, which was the important rear base of Japanese troops by virtue of high wall, deep ditch and fortifications here and there. Under continuous barrages, soldiers of the Eighth Route Army quickly passed over the external ditches, approached to city wall and erected aerial ladder to siege the city. Suddenly, the sound of gunfire and fighting was heard everywhere in Tancheng. After marching into Tancheng, our army attacked the enemy from two sides and forced them to retreat to the center of town. With political offensives, continuous blasting and fierce attack, the battle was over on January 21. There were more than 400 Japanese and Puppet soldiers shot dead, 7 Japanese soldiers and over 600 puppet soldiers and puppet officers captured, large quantity of firearms and ammunition and military supplies seized, while 91 soldiers from Eighth Route Army were killed in the battle. Tancheng is the first town with solid defense works in Yimeng Base conquered by 115th Division. With application of multimedia means by Gush Multimedia, the wooden city gate was ironclad with iron sheet and embedded with cooper ingot; bright blue light is used to simulate the night color; when the somber music sounded, under the command of acting commander Chen Guang from 115th Division’s 2nd Teaching Brigade of the Eighth Route Army, our army marched on to and attacked Tancheng from place 80km away. With a huge noise, the city gate was exploded and on fire. In the battlefield permeated with smoke of gunpowder, soldiers of Eighth Route Army and Japanese troops engaged in a fierce struggle.
