Capital Museum is a large-scale provincial and municipal comprehensive museum in Beijing of China, which was founded in 1953 and officially opened to the public in October, 1981. At that time, the museum was located in Confucian Temple, Guozijian Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing City, wherein Confucian Temple was built in the sixth year of Dade during Yuan dynasty (AD 1302) and covers an area of 22,000m2 and the three courtyards are under well preservation through renovations during the past dynasties. Its main buildings include Xianshi door, Dacheng door, Dacheng Hall, Chongsheng Hall, etc. The forest of steles inscribed by scholars in Ming and Qing dynasty is unique in China. The rooms in two side halls are used for exhibition hall with area of more than 2000m2 and elegant and peaceful environment.
