The Public Security Education Center (PSEC), which is jointly built by the Ministry of National Security and the National Security Bureau Shanghai, opened to the public from December 2005. The PSEC is the largest national security education base in China.
The PSEC covers an area of 2500 m2, comprising of four exhibition zones, namely, and “Glorious Achievements, Safeguards of the P.R. China”, “Co-building New Great Wall and Looking into the World. Taking the development of underground work of the Communist Party of China as the time axis and focusing on major events and figures from the underground work, the PSEC fully applies modern exhibition techniques including sound and light model computer enquiry, laser simulation, and large screen multimedia exhibition system to fully demonstrate the suffering efforts made and fruitful achievements gained by the revolutionists and police officers during before-P.R. China time, the early time of P. R. China and the Open-up period for CPC, Chinese people, the new people’s government and the safety as well as honor of China.
The PSEC provides a communication platform for citizens to understand the history of underground and national security works, contributing to improve the national security awareness of citizens.
The upgrading of the PSEC was finished in June 2014. The most prominent point of the upgrading lies in that Gush Multimedia, as early as at idea creation stage, braved to break the limit of traditional exhibition center design to apply the most advanced multimedia technology, showing the concept that “All of Us Should Protect National Security”.
The whole video has three chapters, namely, before- and early-period of the P.R. China, the ever-changing international community and the new challenges in the new era. Taking time as axis, the video shows the challenges and fruits of underground work in different periods. By comparing the major events with national security work, the video reflected the importance, complexity and uniqueness of national security work.
The lights darken as the audiences sat down. In the dim lights, the audiences can only see the shadows of sculptures behind gauze, adding the sense of mystery.
As the performance begins, a huge emblem of the CPC appears as the bright lights drive away the darkness. The gauze curtain spreads out and columns of lights spotlight the sculptures. The big screen above the sculptures unveils to introduce stories behind the sculptures.
Next, the unveiled five big screens and gauze curtain demonstrate in detail national security work with multi-screen and large magnitude video. All multimedia joined in the show at the proper time, making audiences enjoy the best music, video and sound effects. The perfect integration between lights and videos create a “mysterious” and “grand” environment for audiences.
The last exhibition zone, echoes to the first zone, focuses on spiritual demonstration. After visiting all exhibition zones in the PSEC, the visitors will experience spiritual improvement after knowing about all aspects of national security work, and this spiritual improvement just reflects the aim the PSEC, for the center aims at having audiences to know that all of us have the responsibility to protect national security. To the CPC and China, this is the key and foundation to maintain national harmony and stability. To national security police officers, it is a solemn task for them to assume. To the common people, all citizens should shoulder this responsibility to protect national security. With the joint effort from people can sure the long stability of national security and China. To reflect those concepts, the last exhibition zone also has three chapters. The first chapter gives a brief review to the key points of the PSEC, having visitors re-understand what they have learnt about national security. The second cheaper reminds the audiences with real-effect videos, conveying that danger exists everywhere. In the last chapter, citizens, regardless of their age, gender and occupation, chorused “All of us should protect national security” led by police officers. Lastly, all portraits compose into a golden iron great wall to protect the peaceful China and the better future.
